SoC(System on a Chip)

A System on a Chip (SoC) is a semiconductor device that integrates multiple system components onto a single chip. In addition to enabling smaller and lighter device designs, an SoC delivers higher operational speeds because the entire system functions within a single chip. On the other hand, longer development lead times and increased development costs remain key challenges. Note that the technology used to enclose multiple semiconductor chips within a single package is known as a System in Package (SiP).
