1. Glossary

Hovering

Hovering refers to a flight state where an aircraft or drone remains stationary in midair. It refers to maintaining position not only at a constant altitude but also in all directions, including forward, backward, left, and right.

Hovering state

To achieve hovering, it is necessary to balance the lift generated by the propellers with gravity. To quickly correct positional deviations, multiple precision sensors are used for operational control:

  • ・Barometric Pressure Sensors (Altitude Control): Measure altitude from surrounding atmospheric pressure changes and adjust propeller rotation speed to control the lift.
  • ・Gyro Sensors (Attitude Control): Detect tilt (angular velocity) in real time to maintain a horizontal attitude.
  • ・Accelerometers / GPS (Position Correction): Detect movement speed and spatial position to correct positional deviations.
