Features of CEROBEAR Custom Bearings

There is no standard catalog for CEROBEAR custom bearings.
This is because we understand that the unique challenges and requirements of each customer cannot be fully addressed by an off-the-shelf product catalog.
CEROBEAR does not ask you to "choose" from fixed options; instead, we "co-create" a solution that fits your needs 100%. Please start by telling us your specific requirements —what kind of bearing you need. We will propose the optimal design from scratch.

Extensive Customization Capabilities

CEROBEAR excels in manufacturing bearings for extremely demanding applications by combining advanced materials with sophisticated designs. We are capable of producing a variety of ball bearings (thrust, angular contact, deep groove, thin-section, double-row, multi-row) and a variety of roller bearings (cylindrical, tapered, needle, spherical, hourglass, and with outer ring gears).
Beyond internal specifications like internal clearance, contact angle, tolerance, rigidity, and seals, we can customize the product as a complete "bearing system." This includes features like screws, springs, flanges, anti-rotation mechanisms, lubrication ports, and even integrated outer ring gears or inner rings, taking into account assembly and the function of peripheral components.

Aerospace

Aerospace

CEROBEAR is deeply committed to the development and growth of the aerospace sector. We actively supply hybrid bearings for a wide range of applications, including aircraft and helicopter gearboxes, transmissions, engines, Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), space rocket turbopumps, and air management systems.
Our aerospace legacy began in the early 2000s for the first time when our ceramic cylindrical roller bearings were integrated into the liquid hydrogen pumps of the US Space Shuttle main engines. These ceramic rollers performed approximately 40 missions without a single failure. Operating in extreme conditions where liquid hydrogen served as the only lubricant, they achieved stable performance at speeds of 36,200 rpm and ultra-low temperatures of -250°C (-423°F).

Motorsport

Motorsport

As a proven supplier with over 20 years of experience, we provide high-performance, highly customized hybrid bearings for critical racing car applications, including gearboxes, transmissions, wheels, motor generator units, turbochargers, chassis, engines, and clutches.

Cryogenic industry

Cryogenic industry

In cryogenic applications, rolling bearings frequently operate in extremely harsh environments defined by temperatures well below 0°C poor lubrication. At temperatures near absolute zero(-273.15°C), oil or grease lubrication becomes impossible, making conventional steel bearings prone to short service life, early equipment failure, and unplanned machine downtime.
CEROBEAR not only pays meticulous attention to all bearing materials but also adapts the internal and external geometries of the bearing to suit cryogenic environments. From the design stage, our engineers consider the varying thermal properties of all materials—including the shaft and housing—and propose the optimal radial clearance and contact angle at operating temperatures to ensure seamless integration with mating components. These features maximize load capacity and extend bearing life. Our solutions are widely utilized in turbo expanders, liquid turbines, chillers, and pumps for various liquefied gases, such as LNG, LN2, LO2, LH2, LHe2, and NH3.

Energy and Oil & Gas

Energy and Oil & Gas

In the oil and gas industry, our bearings are used in aero-derivative gas turbines for power generation, leveraging our long-standing track record of supplying the aerospace industry.
CEROBEAR’s hybrid and all-ceramic ball and roller bearings maximize the service life and reliability of all rotating systems in the oil and gas industry, improving operational performance. The more severe the operating conditions—such as extreme temperatures, high loads, high speeds, contamination, corrosion, or poor lubrication—the more CEROBEAR bearings outperform the competition. Combining ceramic rolling elements with high-nitrogen steel, they deliver exceptional rolling contact fatigue resistance and outstanding corrosion resistance, ensuring significantly extended service life.
Over the years, we have accumulated extensive manufacturing expertise and technology in specialized steels. CEROBEAR bearings flexibly support everything from build-to-print manufacturing based on customer drawings to original design proposals, providing comprehensive bearing solutions for power generation and energy storage systems.

Semiconductor manufacturing equipment

Semiconductor manufacturing equipment

Semiconductor manufacturing equipment requires both "ultimate cleanliness" and "resistance to extreme environments". In processes where miniaturization is accelerating, CEROBEAR's ceramic and hybrid bearings achieve high reliability and stable operation that conventional metal bearings cannot reach. We reliably resolve for rotating mechanism challenges in lithography, heat treatment, etching, vacuum coating, and both cryogenic and high-temperature environments.
In high-vacuum environments such as thin-film deposition, evaporation, and sputtering, our specialized materials minimize outgassing. Lubricant-free (dry) operation can be proposed in some cases, where the suppression of particle generation leads to an improvement in product yield.
Furthermore, the use of ceramics and highly corrosion-resistant steels prevents degradation caused by strong acids, strong alkalis, and corrosive gases. For environments requiring non-magnetic or insulating properties, our all-ceramic bearings are the ideal choices.
Additionally, for thin-section bearings, our unique design maximizes ball diameter to provide high-rigidity solutions that surpasses conventional products. By dramatically extending maintenance cycles and enabling high-speed, high-precision processing, we maximize the overall performance of your equipment.

Auxiliary bearings

Auxiliary bearings

Active Magnetic Bearings (AMB) utilize the principle of magnetic levitation to support shafts without contact or wear, making them indispensable for high-speed rotating systems. These bearings are employed in a wide variety of applications, ranging from large and small turbo compressors to turbomolecular pumps, aeration blowers, gas expanders, and machine tool spindles. CEROBEAR provides optimal auxiliary bearing (touchdown bearing) solutions for all of these applications.
CEROBEAR’s touchdown bearings have proven their superior performance at extremely high speed factors (n x dm) of up to 3.6 million mm/min. Due to their unique, customized geometries, they control shafts even under exceptionally high radial and axial shock loads. We can also offer "superduplex" designs—featuring a one-piece, double-row inner ring combined with an axially split outer race—which ensure uniform load distribution across both ball rows to reduce Hertzian stress at the rolling contact. CEROBEAR auxiliary bearings serve as the ultimate safeguard for system integrity under harsh conditions. We propose the optimal design tailored to your specific application requirements.
