Demand for MEMS devices has been increasing due to their excellent suitability for mass production and their ability to enable consistent manufacture of products at the same quality, which has led them to replace conventional products. Furthermore, in recent years, their use has been expanding in fields such as home appliances and medicine, where they had not been used before.

Some MEMS sensors can be easily connected to a network. Analysing the information collected by MEMS sensors in real time via the Internet enables the providing of even higher value-added services.
