1. MinebeaMitsumi PM stepping motor custom options
-
Torque
Fine-tune torque for your specific speed range via optimized resistance and magnet materials. -
Lead Wires and Connectors
Custom wiring and connector configurations tailored to your manufacturing environment. -
Shaft Shapes, Lengths & Diameters
Customize output shafts for mounting pulleys or gears. We also offer custom shaft lengths, diameters, and dual-shaft options. -
Front Plate
Available with standard round, tapped, or slotted mounting holes. Supports mounting angles from 30° to 150°. -
Motor Input Connection Type
Select the connection type that minimizes total costs for your application. -
Nameplates and Labels

2. Torque adjustment through resistance optimization and magnetic materials
Precise torque adjustment is achieved through resistance optimization and magnetic material selection. Choose the ideal magnet for your application, such as a plastic ferrite magnet with excellent temperature stability, or a bonded neodymium magnet for high torque output.
- Bonded neodymium: High torque
- Plastic ferrite : Superior temperature characteristics
For details on the resistance range, please refer to "Resistance range by series" on page 2 of the downloadable document
3. Integration of lead wires and connectors to reduce assembly time
While our standard models feature 300 mm flying leads, we offer extensive customizations to prevent on-site assembly errors. Customization options include connector attachment, cable sleeving, and printed marker tubes for identification.
- Compatible with major connector brands: HRS, JST, JWT, TE, and more.
(Please contact us for specific model numbers.) - UL/CSA standard-compliant lead wires
4. Customizing shaft shape, length, and diameter
We offer custom machining tailored to your installation and output requirements, including modifications to the motor shaft length and diameter, alongside D-cuts, grooves, and holes on the shaft end. We also select materials and design power transmission components, such as pulleys and worm gears, optimized for the motor's application and operating conditions. Delivering motors with these components pre-assembled reduces your overall assembly time.
- Additional machining :
D-cuts, drilling, grooving, pin press-fitting, and knurling to match your mounting method.
- Component integration :
Delivering motors with pre-installed pulleys or gears to reduce your on-site assembly efforts.
- Length and diameter modifications :
Custom lengths not listed in the catalog, shaft diameter changes, and dual shaft configurations.
- Shaft diameter lineup : Φ1.5, Φ2, Φ3, Φ6.345 mm

5. Front plates for resolving mounting issues
Customizing the front plate can resolve common mounting challenges, such as incompatible specifications or
the inability to secure a nut on the back.
While round holes are standard, tapped (internal thread) and slotted options are also available. Tapped
types (excluding the PM55 series) feature burring to ensure sufficient thread depth for secure bolt
fastening.
The mounting angle refers to the angle between the right-hand hole and the terminal center when viewing the
motor from the front. Angles from 30° to 150° are available. Please consult us for angles outside this
range.
6. Five motor input connection types
You can choose from five motor input connection methods to best suit your equipment and assembly
process. Specifying the optimal connection method in advance eliminates the complex wire harnessing or relay
components, improving assembly efficiency and ensuring consistent product quality.
*For motors with a diameter of 8 cm or less, only the FPC method is available.
7. Nameplates and labels for enhanced traceability and quality control
To meet today's stringent quality control standards, we offer solutions that simplify
individual unit management.
Our custom nameplate labels can be printed with standard text, QR codes, or Data Matrix (2D) codes. This
ensures reliable traceability at manufacturing sites and in the field.

8. FAQ
Do you offer custom shaft lengths not listed in the catalog, even for small lots?
What other customization examples do you have?
Can you provide torque data for operating conditions not listed in the catalog?
How can we reduce motor assembly labor hours and the risk of wiring errors at manufacturing sites?
- ・Integration of pulleys and gears: Motors pre-assembled with pulleys or gears on the output shaft eliminate assembly steps.
- ・Pre-wired connections: Instead of loose lead wires, motors with specified connectors and printed marking tubes for identification can prevent wiring mistakes on site.
